For Harvest Festival international we teamed up with Casablanca based collective Studio Noujoum La Gironde to create Sow to Harvest, an events line up exploring our resonance to nature while living in big cities, through sound, smell and touch.
For the first, Saad Elbaraka and Jessica El Mal ran a workshop to explore what 'nature' might be, and how to listen to it using sound and editing techniques. For the second, we were hosted for a relaxed Harvest Festival workshop led by Dr. Oumaima Harkousse and Dr. Mohamed Ait Boulahsen of A.MAL Projects. They brought to the table a consideration of the ingredients and products and their relationship to our local environments and contexts, considering our ancestral histories, practices around food, and our commitment to the future of those. We had the opportunity to get tactile with ingredients, using our senses as an embodied way of connecting to these questions.
More events coming in the fall.
